First Connections offers 4 facilitated playgroups running one and a half hours per group, one day a week, for a 12 week period each trimester. A parent and child are welcome to sign up for the group that corresponds to the age the child will be at the start of the group. First Connections’ playgroups are held in our play space in the Community Agencies Building at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. No fees are charged to attend, although hospital parking fees apply ($5 for up to 2 hours). 

Fall 2008 registration begins Friday, September 5 at 10:00 a.m. by calling 978-287-0221. All children will be registered for the group that includes their age during the week of September 15.

Our four playgroups are broken down into the following age ranges:

• 7-13 Month Olds
  This first exposure to playgroups enhances baby’s socialization and gives parents a chance to connect with each other and gain support.
  Facilitated by Ellen Weisstein, M.S.
  Meets Tuesdays, 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
  
  
• 14-20 Month Olds
  Toddlers will be introduced to a circle time, have an opportunity to try a craft activity, and go outdoors to the playground weather permitting.
  Facilitated by Laura Gerson,LICSW
• Meets Thursdays, from 9:00-10:30 a.m.
  
  
• 21-27 Month Olds "Lunch Bunch"
  Pack a lunch and join a toddler Group which includes age-appropriate activities such as a story time, songs, and table activities. They go outdoors to the playground weather permitting.
  Facilitated by Laura Gerson, LICSW
  Meets Thursdays from 11:00-12:30 a.m
  
  
• 28-36 Month Olds
• Join other preschoolers for story time, a craft activity, and fun on the playground, weather permitting. 
  Facilitated by Mary Beilman, MA
  Meets Mondays, 1:00-2:30 p.m.
  
  

There is no fee for joining our playgroups but regular attendance over the course of the 12 week period is required. Each trimester’s registration date is listed exclusively in the current First Connections’ Newsletter and not offered online as yet. Our playgroups tend to fill up fast so early registration is strongly suggested. To register for a playgroup, call First Connections at 978-287-0221.

Please Note:  Our safety policy for siblings states that infants attending playgroups must be kept in a front-carrier at all times.  Older siblings are not allowed in baby or toddler groups.
